How Does a Solana LP Locker Work?

StakePoint is a non-custodial Solana LP locker supporting Raydium AMM v4, Raydium CPMM, Meteora, Orca, and PumpSwap LP tokens. To lock LP tokens, connect your wallet at stakepoint.app/locks, select your LP token, set a lock duration, and confirm.

LP tokens are transferred into a Program Derived Address on-chain and the lock is immediately verifiable on Solscan. No private keys exist for the lock vault, so nobody can withdraw tokens before the unlock date.

What Is a Solana LP Locker?

A Solana LP locker is a smart contract that accepts liquidity pool tokens and holds them in a Program Derived Address (PDA) on-chain until a specified unlock date. Program Derived Addresses have no private keys, the tokens inside cannot be accessed by anyone, including the original depositor and StakePoint, before the unlock time.

When a project locks LP tokens, investors can independently verify the lock on Solscan using the token mint address. This provides transparent, on-chain proof that the liquidity backing a token cannot be withdrawn for the duration of the lock.

LP locking is a standard practice for Solana projects launching on Raydium, Meteora, or other DEXs. It signals commitment and reduces liquidity removal risk for investors. StakePoint's LP locker supports every major Solana DEX and both SPL and Token-2022 LP pairs.

How to Lock LP Tokens on Solana

Four simple steps. Takes under a minute.

Step 1

Connect your Solana wallet

Connect Phantom, Solflare, or any Solana wallet to StakePoint.

Step 2

Select your LP token

Choose your Raydium AMM v4, CPMM, Meteora, or Orca LP token from your wallet.

Step 3

Set a lock duration

Choose how long to lock. The unlock date is enforced by the smart contract, not by StakePoint.

How LP Locks Are Secured

StakePoint's LP locker is a non-custodial Anchor smart contract deployed on Solana mainnet. When LP tokens are locked, they are transferred into a Program Derived Address, an on-chain account with no private key. The tokens remain there until the unlock time, at which point only the original locker wallet can withdraw them.

The upgrade authority for the StakePoint smart contract is controlled by a 3-of-4 Squads multisig with hardware wallet signers. No single party can modify the program unilaterally.

Solana LP Locker, FAQ

Everything you need to know about locking LP tokens on Solana

Should you lock LP or burn it?

Burn it if the liquidity is never coming back. A permanent burn is a stronger signal than any time lock because there is no date to wait for and no third party involved. Lock it if the liquidity has a future job: a pool migration, an exchange listing, or a scheduled strategy. Burned is irreversible, so the question is not which looks better but whether you will ever need it back.

How much of your LP should you lock?

Substantially all of the project-held LP, and be straight about any remainder. Locking a headline percentage while quietly holding the rest is worse than not locking, because the number invites scrutiny and the remainder gets found. Lock the majority, publish what the rest is for, and let holders judge the reason rather than discover it.

How long should an LP lock run?

Long enough that you will defend the date publicly. Six months is the floor, a year is the common choice, and anything under three months reads as a formality rather than a commitment. Choose the duration you are willing to explain, not the one that sounds longest.

Which pool is your liquidity in, and can it be locked?

Check before you commit liquidity, because coverage varies by venue and finding out afterwards means your LP is somewhere you cannot lock it. Raydium AMM v4 and CPMM, Meteora DAMM v1 and v2, Orca and PumpSwap all issue standard LP tokens that can be locked. Meteora DLMM positions are NFTs rather than fungible tokens, so no SPL locker can hold them.

What does an LP lock actually prove?

That the liquidity cannot be pulled before a specific date. That is all, and precision matters, because a lock says nothing about the team's token supply, the mint authority, or whether anyone keeps trading. It closes one specific exit, and holders reasonably ask about the others.

How does a holder verify your LP lock?

They open the public lock page and check it against Solscan using the LP token mint address. The locked amount and the unlock timestamp are on-chain and readable without trusting any platform. Pin both links rather than a screenshot, because a screenshot proves nothing.

What is StakePoint's LP locker program ID?

StakePoint's program ID is gLHaGJsZ6G7AXZxoDL9EsSWkRbKAWhFHi73gVfNXuzK on Solana mainnet. Every LP lock is an account owned by that program, so a holder can verify a lock against it on Solscan without connecting a wallet or trusting the project.

Has the StakePoint LP locker been audited?

Yes. The StakePoint program holds a Grade A security audit from Auditr. The upgrade authority is a 3-of-4 Squads multisig with hardware wallet signers, and locked LP tokens sit in Program Derived Addresses with no private key.

What is an LP locker on Solana?

A Solana LP locker is a smart contract that holds liquidity pool tokens in a Program Derived Address until a specified unlock date. The locked LP tokens cannot be withdrawn by anyone, including the project team and StakePoint, before the unlock time. This gives investors verifiable proof that liquidity cannot be removed.

Which LP tokens can I lock on Solana?

StakePoint supports LP tokens from Raydium (AMM v4 and CPMM), Meteora, Orca, and PumpSwap. Both SPL and Token-2022 LP pairs are supported.

Can StakePoint withdraw my locked LP tokens?

No. Locked LP tokens are held in Program Derived Addresses with no private keys. Nobody, can withdraw them before the unlock date. Only the original locker wallet can claim after the unlock time.

How do investors verify locked liquidity on Solana?

Each lock on StakePoint has a public URL showing the token mint, amount locked, unlock date, and creator wallet. Investors can verify the lock independently on Solscan using the token mint address.

Does locking LP tokens prevent a rug pull?

Locking LP tokens means the liquidity cannot be removed from the pool before the unlock date. This reduces liquidity removal risk for investors. It does not prevent other risks such as token minting, teams should also consider revoking mint authority.

How do I lock liquidity on Raydium?

To lock liquidity on Raydium, you lock your Raydium LP tokens using StakePoint. Connect your wallet, select your Raydium AMM v4 or CPMM LP token, set the lock duration, and confirm. Your LP tokens are transferred into a Program Derived Address on-chain. The liquidity stays in the Raydium pool and continues functioning normally. See our dedicated Raydium LP locker page for a full walkthrough.

Does StakePoint support token vesting?

Yes. StakePoint supports token locking with a fixed unlock date and token vesting with cliffs and gradual linear release. Use locking for liquidity and supply commitments, and vesting for team, investor and advisor allocations. StakePoint is not affiliated with SparkPoint (SRK).
